Refund Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This page explains what a refund does to a bid and to a listing's position, so that the effect on the leaderboard is known before you pay.
1. What a payment buys
A confirmed payment adds its amount to your listing's cumulative total. That total is what decides the position. You are not buying a specific rank, a guaranteed period at a rank, or any traffic or result.
Because other listings can bid at any time, a position can change without anything happening to your payment. A position changing is not, by itself, a fault in the service.
2. When you can request a refund
Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or where BidRank fails to deliver the paid service.
Failing to deliver means the service did not do what you paid for — for example a confirmed payment that was never added to your cumulative total. It does not mean your listing was overtaken, ranked lower than you hoped, or received less attention than you expected: the leaderboard is competitive by design, and a position changing is the service working, not failing.
3. What a full refund does
- The refunded bid stops counting. Its amount is removed from your listing's cumulative total.
- The total is recalculated from the payments that are still confirmed, and the leaderboard is updated accordingly. Your listing may move down, and it may leave the public leaderboard entirely if nothing confirmed remains.
- The change is recorded in the audit history, like every other change to a total.
4. What a partial refund does
- A partial refund does not automatically change any total or any position.
- It is recorded and flagged for manual review, because a partial amount cannot be applied to a ranking rule built on whole confirmed bids without a human deciding what should happen.
- Until that review is resolved, the bid continues to count exactly as it did before: the partial refund changes nothing on the leaderboard on its own.
5. Payments that never counted
A payment that is pending, that failed, that was cancelled, or whose checkout expired before it was completed has never contributed to any ranking, so there is nothing to reverse. If you were not charged, there is no refund to make.
If a payment is held for review because of a discrepancy, it has not been applied to the ranking either, and it is resolved through that review rather than through this policy.
6. How refunds are paid out
Refunds are issued through Dodo Payments, back to the original payment method. How long the money takes to appear is determined by them and by your bank, not by us.
To ask about a refund, contact [SUPPORT CONTACT EMAIL] with the email address on your account and the listing concerned.
7. Removed or rejected listings
A listing that is removed for breaking the Terms of Service stops appearing on the leaderboard. The rule in section 2 still applies: removal for a breach of the Terms is not a failure to deliver the service, so it does not by itself create a right to a refund.
A submission that is rejected before approval was never able to receive bids, so no payment can have been taken for it.
