Terms of Service

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

These terms govern your use of BidRank. By submitting a listing or placing a bid, you agree to them.

1. What BidRank is

BidRank is a public leaderboard. Companies submit their products, and each listing's position is decided by the total amount its owner has paid in confirmed bids. The ranking rule is the product: it is the same for everyone and it is visible on every page.

BidRank does not rank tools by quality, popularity, editorial judgement or any review process. A position on the leaderboard is not an endorsement, a recommendation or a statement that one product is better than another.

2. Your account

An account is created with your email address using a one-time sign-in link. There is no password. You are responsible for the security of the email account you use to sign in, because anyone with access to it can access your listings.

You must provide an email address you control, and keep it current, because it identifies your account.

3. Submitting a listing

You may only submit a product that you own or are authorised to represent. By submitting, you confirm that you have that authority and that the information you provide is accurate.

When you submit a product URL, we fetch that page once to check that it is reachable and to read its public title, description and icon. We do not submit forms, log in, or fetch anything behind authentication.

4. Review, moderation and removal

Every submission is reviewed before it appears anywhere. Approval is not guaranteed, and a listing that is not approved is not public and cannot receive bids.

BidRank may reject a submission, or remove an approved listing, at its discretion — including when a listing breaks the acceptable use rules below, misrepresents the product, or points to a destination that is unsafe, unreachable or materially different from what was submitted.

A removed listing stops appearing on the leaderboard. Removal does not by itself create a right to a refund; see the Refund Policy.

5. How ranking works

  • Each listing has a cumulative total: the sum of every bid on that listing whose payment has been confirmed.
  • The highest cumulative total ranks first. If two listings have the same total, the one that reached it first ranks higher.
  • Only the owner of a listing may bid on it. You cannot bid on someone else's listing, and you cannot bid your way past a competitor by paying on their behalf.
  • Totals do not decay and are not reset. A confirmed bid keeps counting until it is refunded in full.
  • A position is never reserved. Starting a checkout changes nothing: a bid affects the ranking only once its payment is confirmed, and another listing may overtake you at any time, including while your payment is in progress.

6. What you pay

  • You choose the total you want your listing to reach. BidRank then calculates the additional amount required: the difference between that target and the listing's current confirmed total.
  • That calculation is performed on our servers against the confirmed total at that moment. The amount shown to you before checkout is an estimate of that difference; the amount actually charged is the one our servers compute when the checkout is created.
  • Each market sets a minimum first bid and a minimum increase. For the AI Tools leaderboard the minimum first bid is $5.
  • All amounts are in US dollars (USD).
  • Paying does not buy a specific position, a guaranteed duration at a position, traffic, clicks, customers or any other outcome. It adds the amount you paid to your listing's cumulative total, and nothing else.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record for your transaction. You complete the payment on their checkout page, under their terms. BidRank never receives or stores your full card details.

A bid counts towards the ranking only when we receive a confirmed payment notification from the payment processor. Until then the bid is pending and has no effect on any position.

If a checkout is not completed it expires, and the pending bid is closed without any charge and without any effect on the ranking.

8. Payments held for review

If there is a discrepancy between what was authorised and what the payment processor reports — for example a different amount, a different currency, a payment we cannot match to a bid, or a payment that arrives after its checkout expired — the payment is recorded and flagged for manual review instead of being applied automatically.

A payment under review does not change any ranking while it is being reviewed.

9. Acceptable use

  • Do not submit a product you do not own or represent, and do not impersonate another company or person.
  • Do not submit listings for illegal products or services, malware, phishing, or content that is unlawful where it is offered.
  • Do not describe your product in a way that is false or materially misleading, and do not point your listing at a destination that differs from what you submitted.
  • Do not attempt to manipulate the leaderboard other than by bidding on your own listing — including by creating multiple accounts or duplicate listings for the same product.
  • Do not attempt to inflate click counts, interfere with the service, bypass rate limits, or access data that is not yours.
  • Do not scrape the service in a way that degrades it for others.

10. Availability and changes

BidRank is provided as it is, without any warranty. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and we may change these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.

Where the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amounts you have paid us.
